Wedge - A Column Designed for Scale-Up Studies

HAYWARD, CA, August 9, 2000 - Sepragen's long-standing commitment to the needs of the chromatographer has now resulted in the design of the first ever truly scalable columns in the market.  Chromatography engineers and scientists at Sepragen have responded to the scale up problems experienced by the Chromatographers by designing the new scalable columns - The Wedge®.  These columns fully exploit the separation capability/high capacity of the lost cost soft media and the faster flow media of today, without compromising performance in terms of chromatographic separation efficiency and productivity.  Wedge® Columns incorporate the patented design of Radial Flow and traditional axial flow column chromatography.  This permits for easy linear scale-up of your process from lab/research to large-scale productions.  The chromatographic process can be transferred from a 10 ml axial columns and the process optimized.  Then the process can be directly applied to large-scale Radial Flow columns as large as you want i.e. 10L, 50L, or even 300L.  This is possible as the column is just a section out of a process radial column.
