SuperfloŽ columns are based on the unique radial
flow geometry and are ideally suited for high throughput bioprocess
applications. Because of their versatility, ease of use, and
simplicity, SuperfloŽ columns allow you to scale up your
separation without sacrificing the quality of the chromatography, or
adding cost and labor.
Unique hydrodynamics of SuperfloŽ columns,
in a (GMP) bio-molecule purification process, will enable fast and
economical high performance fractionation of product-feeds at capture and
concentration steps. The use of SuperfloŽ columns result
in higher yields and improved selectivity of the resin. Short beds in
SuperfloŽ columns and its tapered design result in optimal
"natural" product distribution. SuperfloŽ
columns are typically applicable with adsorptive media: Ion Exchange,
Hydrophobic interaction, Affinity and Reversed Phase.
Cost reduction in the GMP production area is
accomplished through the reduced footprint of SuperfloŽ
process columns. At bed-heights of 16cm or less and volumes between 10 and
350L the footprint will be limited to approximately 1m2.
Reduced backpressure and typical geometry will allow the use of cheap and
high capacity soft gels which will again reduce time and cost.
Key Benefits
- Unique radial flow geometry for higher throughput,
recovery and purity.
- True linear scale-up.
- High-speed separations at a fraction of the cost of
conventional columns.
- Simple to use and operate.
- Compatible with soft gels or rigid media.
Why do the new SuperfloŽ Columns work?
- The channels for sample distribution are no longer
blocked by the frit, which caused an obstruction and hence uneven
packing of column.
- No vapor locks which caused uneven distribution of
sample.
- Frits are hydrophilic as opposed to earlier
hydrophobic frits.
