VersaFlo™ Axial Chromatography Columns

VersaFlo™ Chromatography columns are
pilot/production size columns designed for GMP applications. The
columns were developed to optimize and produce high-resolution
separations. Dead volumes have been minimized by incorporating a
"V" ring seal on the adjustable bed adapter which when
compressed, reduces the critical column voids around the inlet frit.
The inlet and outlet adapters with their respective frits employ a
patented lens focusing design to achieve a better distribution and thus
produce sharper and more symmetrical peaks. |
Features
- Lens Focusing Flow Adapter:
The frit is machined in a convex shape and fitted into the adapter such that
the flat surface is in contact with the resin bead. This design provides a
higher resistance for the flow in the center thus allowing a more even
distribution of the sample, hence producing sharper and more symmetrical
peaks.
- Quick Release Adapter:
Column set up and handling is easy with Versaflo™ Columns, due to its
quick release mechanism. This is designed to provide quick and easy movement
of the adjuster. A simple snap-action-locking lever permits rapid movement
of the bed adapter. Fine adjustments are made using a single rotational
handle. Since the column top is secured with a quick release band clamp the
packing and unpacking is made quite simple.
- Sanitary Construction:
Not only are Versaflo™ columns made out of materials compatible with
chemical sanitation procedures, they are designed to allow easy hand
complete sanitation in place without disassembly even above the adjuster
seal, hence eliminating any chance for contamination of the chromatographic
bed. The center bore is made of one piece that connects the inlet to the top
of the frit thus avoiding any possible dead zones.
- Dead Zone Free and V-Ring Seal:
This eliminates zones difficult to wash and eliminates the risk of bacterial
growth around the seal.
